Twelve hours downtown on a Saturday

July 1, 2026 · 6 min read

Start at the Overland Park Farmers' Market before 9 a.m. Vendors pack up early when the heat rolls in, and the best produce goes first. Grab coffee from a stand, walk the full loop once before you buy anything — you'll see what's actually in season versus what looked good from twenty feet away.

By 10:30, head south on Santa Fe Drive. Tallboyz Garage does brunch-adjacent lunch if you're hungry; Hummus & Pita on Santa Fe if you want something you can eat while walking. Both are independent — no app required, no loyalty program pitch at the door.

The afternoon is for browsing, not buying. Made in KC downtown stocks metro makers you won't find at Oak Park Mall. House of Clay runs classes if you want to do something with your hands instead of your wallet.

If you're visiting from KCMO, the drive is twenty minutes. Parking on Saturday is manageable on side streets north of 80th. The farmers market runs April through October — check the Overland Park Farmers' Market page for winter market dates if you're here off-season.
